Nuit Blanche: TORNMUSIK – for three

‘TORNMUSIK – for three’ is a concert piece created by Amina Hocine for the Église du Saint-Esprit (Paris 12), in dialogue with a sound sculpture presented at the Institut suédois. Together, these forms make up a two-part work on the idea of ‘vertical music’ that explores the relationships between time, space and sound.

Three musicians use the Église du Saint-Esprit as an integral element of the performance. The sound changes depending on height, distance and direction, and reverberates throughout the space. The architecture thus becomes an instrument in its own right: the soundscapes interact with the building and create a genuine acoustic matrix.
